Kidd wins Republican primary runoff

Chris Kidd wins the Aug. 23 Republican primary runoff for state Senate District 31 with 1,710 votes and 51.4 percent over his opponent Toni Hasenbeck with 1,617 votes and 48.6 percent.

Kidd will face the Democrat candidate on the ballot in November.

He is the son of an Oklahoma rancher and a school teacher.

Kidd has an associate degree in Agricultural Science from Murray State College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources from Oklahoma State University.

“We are grateful for the win tonight, but our race isn’t over,” Kidd said. We face a general election opponent and will continue working hard until Nov. 8. Then again, I will ask for your vote.”
