At about 10 p.m. on Oct. 5, a man was hit by a car in Snyder. The man, William White, died from his injuries.
According to the police, White had just left the convenience store, the Waterhole, and stopped in the middle of U.S. 183 for an unknown reason.
White was struck by a Chevy Blazer that was traveling northbound. The driver of that vehicle, whose name is not being released at this time, is cooperating with police. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol shut down U.S. 183 northbound at CR 1620 at 3 p.m. Oct. 6. to investigate the accident.
White is the father of country music singer, Bryan White, who had success with hits like “Rebecca Lynn,” “One Small Miracle” and “So Much for Pretending.”
Bryan’s team announced the death of his father in a Facebook post on Oct. 6.
“It comes with great sadness to share this news with you all today,” the announcement said. “Bryan’s father Bud passed away last night in a tragic car accident. We appreciate your love, support, and prayers for Bryan, his brother Daniel, and family at this difficult time.”
The investigation is ongoing.
