Frederick Community Calendar provided


Head Start enrollment for the 2017-18 school year is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Monday through Friday during the month of April. Children who turn three or four years old by Sept. 1 are eligible. Applications can be filled out at the Head Start Center at 521 E. Gladstone Ave. in Frederick. Birth certificates, shot records, social security numbers on all family members, medical card number and proof of income are required to enroll. A Volleyball Camp is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. for third through sixth grades, noon to 2 p.m. for seventh through ninth grades and 3-5 p.m. for 10th through 12th grades on April 29 in the Aggie Gym at Cameron University, 2800 W. A free 2017 Armed Forces Day Music Festival and Red Dirt Barbecue is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. May 20 at Elmer Thomas Park, 501 NW Ferris Ave. in Lawton. NanoExplorers: A High School Summer Science Academy is scheduled for June 4-9 and June 11-16 for students entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grades. This event is a 10-day residential academy where students will live at Cameron for the two-week period and is free to Oklahoma residents. Registration is limited to 24 students.
