The Frederick City Council met in a regular session 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Memorial Civic Center, 110 S. 17th St. in Frederick.
The meeting was called to order and the Pledge of Allegiance followed.
Officials present were Mayor Eddie Whitworth, and councilmen Kevin Ouellette, Chris Cole and Jim Ard.
Staff present were City Manager Robert Johnston, City Treasurer Fabian Reyes, City Attorney Pat Kent and City Clerk Lupe Arumugam.
Councilman Jim Smith was absent.
The council unanimously approved the minutes of the Aug. 8 regular meeting as well as the following claims:
* General fund, airport and capital improvement fund income and expense reports,
* Reschedule Sept. 9 regular meeting to Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m. and
* Draft minutes of the Aug. 17 airport advisory commission meeting
The council approved authorizing the mayor to accept the FAA grant offer for the airport project.
The council has received no bids for the downtown sidewalk improvement project so they will send out new bids.
The council approved documents related to the upper level payment application progress for the nursing home.
The council is in continuing negotiations for the lease of the Former Armory Facility to Coastal Guide Service and Lodge.
The city council meeting was adjourned and the Frederick Public Works regular meeting began.
Officials present were Chairman Eddie Whitworth and Trustees, Jim Ard, Chris Cole and Kevin Ouellette.
Staff present were General Manager Robert Johnston, City Attorney Pat Kent, Finance Director Fabian Reyes and Secretary Lupe Arumugam.
Trustee Jim Smith was absent.
The board unanimously approved:
* Minutes of the Aug. 8 regular meeting,
* Frederick Public Works Authority income and expense report for July 2017,
* Reschedule Sept. 12 regular meeting to Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
The board entered into a brief executive session for the purpose of conducting the general manager’s annual performance review. No action was taken.
