Southwestern Medical Center is planning a free prostate cancer screening for men 40 and older, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Southwestern Urology, 5604 SW Lee Boulevard, Suite 200 in Lawton. The free prostate screening will consist of a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test and a digital rectal exam (DRE). The Frederick Country Club is scheduled to host a golf scramble format fundraiser at 1 p.m. Sept. 16 at the country club, 1001 N 1st St. in Frederick. All the proceeds will go to the Frederick Quarterback and All Sports Club. The fee is $30 per person. Sign up as a team or individually and be placed on a team. The Arts and Humanities council is hosting their annual Arts and Action festival Sept. 16 beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the Courthouse lawn, 201 N. Main St. in Frederick. It will consist of an original arts show, book sale, food vendors and entertainment. The Pioneer Heritage Townsite will also be open for tours.

Frazer Bank is scheduled to hold a sidewalk chalk art contest for children from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Sept. 16 at the Arts and Action Festival. They will be on the east side of the courthouse. The age groups for the contest are 6 and under, seven-nine and 10-12. Judging is set for 3 p.m. Cash prizes of $50, $25 and $15 will be awarded to the top three in each age group.

The homecoming for Loveland Alumni is scheduled for Sept. 16. at the Frederick Country Club, 1001 N. First St. in Frederick. The event will begin with coffee at 10 a.m. and lunch is scheduled for noon. Reservations should be sent to Ava Ruth Tidwell at 524 N. 15th St. in Frederick. The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council is set to host a Laser Show and Street dinner to raise funds for repairs and maintenance of the Ramona Theatre. The Steak dinner will begin at 7 p.m. and have an outdoor laser show. Reservations are required and should be made by Sept. 19, tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
