“We look forward to returning to the Oklahoma Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to share with the members of the church and the Frederick faith community in helping fulfill the question, “Then the people who have God’s approval will reply to Him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or see you thirsty and give you something to drink?’” said Rev. Chlastak. “I believe that God has called me into ministry to help the church, and the people within a particular congregation, to be all that God has created them to be. Much of my ministry is a ministry of encouragement and equipping, helping people discover and develop their gifts and then using those gifts to God’s glory.”
The mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8) First Christian Church is a part of the Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s table as God has welcomed us.
If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to come and visit First Christian and meet Rev. Frank and Doris Chlastak. The church will welcome them on December 15, 2013.
