The Frederick Lion’s Club chooses outstanding seventh and 11th-grade students at Tillman County schools each year. This year’s outstanding seventh and 11th-graders are Cierra Collins, seventh-grade, Ethan Fletcher, 11th grade, both of Frederick; Payne Coody, seventh-grade, Hailey Hunt, 11th-grade, both of Grandfield; Brelynn Rogers, seventh, and Maxx Babcock, 11th-grade, both of Tipton. Beta Sigma Phi presents Woman of the Year award

Abernathy Day event scheduled for June 4 at the Pioneer Townsite

The Tillman County Historical Society is scheduled to host the annual Abernathy Day celebration on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Pioneer Townsite’s Red Barn. The event will consist of a fundraiser dinner followed by a concert and dance. more

Choir banquet honoring seniors held

The Frederick High School choir banquet honoring the 2022 seniors was held May 9, 2022, at the First Methodist Church. State superior soloists and ensembles performed at the event. more

Frederick Middle School didn’t “Let it Go”

The Frederick Public Schools choir department, led by Carisa Schreiner and Heather Schneider, put on a fantastic production of “Frozen Jr.” April 28 and April 29. The show was nearly sold out both nights. Originally scheduled for 2019, the show was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic – when students left for spring break and never returned. more

TCHS Annual Meeting and Interview Forum planned

The Tillman County Historical Society has begun its 2022 Membership Drive and will host its Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. at the Pioneer Townsite. At the meeting, an Interview Forum will be held featuring former coach, educator and business owner, Bob Collins. more

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive returns Saturday, May 14

On May 14, letter carriers in Tillman County will collect nonperishable food donations from homes on their routes as part of the 30th National Association of Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The drive returns after a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. more

Frederick High School band receives new shelves

Loyd and Judy Benson generously donated new shelves to the Frederick High School band room. Band students helped clean out the room and tear down the old shelves and Randy Loveday put the new shelves together. more

Tipton receives splash pad grant

The Town of Tipton has received a $35,000 grant to install a splash pad in the community. According to the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, the total cost of the splash pad is going to be around $70,000. The Tipton Chamber of Commerce is kicking off a donation campaign to help fund the balance.  more
