The Pioneer Townsite is scheduled to host a dance on Friday, April 22, 2022. Dancers and music lovers of all ages are welcome to attend the two-hour event, which begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served throughout the event and music will be provided by the Frederick High School Jazz Band.

The Miss Frederick pageant was held April 2, 2022. Felisha Crawford served as emcee for the event. To kick things off, Miss Frederick 2019 – and 2020 and 2021 – Harley Akin sang “Scars to her Beautiful.”

Miss Frederick 2022 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. April 2 in the historic Ramona Theatre in Frederick. Which one of these beautiful young ladies will be your 2022 Miss Frederick? Xi Alpha Chi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is scheduled to host the Community Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park. The event is free and open to all kids ages two through 10. Special prize eggs will be hidden in each age category and those prizes should be claimed immediately after the hunt from the tables located in the tennis/basketball courts.

Pioneer has announced it is working to help build awareness about the Affordable Connectivity Program, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program. The new long-term benefit will help to lower the cost of broadband service for eligible households struggling to afford internet service.

TILLMAN COUNTY – Oklahoma State University students are set to conduct well water analysis and a short training for citizens in Tillman County. Samples will be accepted at the Tillman County Extension Office from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Tipton Ag Building from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday March 28, 2022. The results will be provided the following evening, Tuesday March 29, 2022, along with a short informative presentation at 5:30 p.m. at the Tipton Ag Building.

After a three-year “pandemic break,” the annual Miss Frederick pageant is scheduled to resume Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Ramona theater, 114 S 9th St., Frederick.
The theme for 2022 is “Tickled Pink,” a celebration of happiness and femininity. Eight contestants will be competing in personal interview, casualwear, talent, and evening gown.

If so, the Frederick Chamber of Commerce 500 Club is accepting applications for facade improvement grants. The program, which was launched by the Chamber in 2005, can provide up to $350 to Frederick businesses for purchase of exterior paint, signage, or other items to improve the appearance of your business.

OKLAHOMA CITY—Senate Bill 1647—known as the Oklahoma Empowerment Act—is drawing increasing concern from rural lawmakers who worry the legislation could reduce state funding dollars for rural public schools. The proposed legislation is a “school choice” bill that would allow any student to use state funds to cover costs associated with private school or homeschool attendance through the use of “school vouchers.”

J.M. and Billie (Clark) Cope were united in marriage on March 22, 1947. They have been dedicated residents of Frederick throughout their entire 75 years of marriage.
