Inaugural Shamrock Shindig to honor John Wayne’s granddaughter

Body
It’s not another gala. It’s not a ball. It’s the first-ever Shamrock Shindig and it will be held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City on Thursday, March 14, 2024. This is not your typical event or fundraiser. The purpose of the evening is to honor the 2024 Grand Marshal of the Oklahoma City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Anita La Cava Swift, the oldest of John Wayne’s 27 grandchildren. The evening’s proceeds will benefit the Center of Family Love in Okarche and the Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City. The latter organization was selected by Ms. Swift and the John Wayne Cancer Foundation for the services it provides to pediatric cancer patients and their families in Oklahoma.
