February is American Heart Month. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in Americans 65 and older, according to the American College of Cardiology. Studies show 1 in 4 American deaths each year are attributed to heart disease. One person dies every 33 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease. About 805,000 people in the United States have a heart attack every year. In 2021, about 695,000 people in the United States died from heart disease. That’s 1 in every 5 deaths.
