“Celebrate the Music” of the holiday season with the Cameron University Concert Choir and Elgin Owl choirs

The Cameron University Concert Choir and the Elgin Owl choirs will unite to “Celebrate the Music!”, an evening of holiday music. The free concert is slated for Thursday, November 30, at 7 p.m. and will take place at the Elgin High School Performing Arts Center, located at 520 K Street.

With leading fraud prevention and detection techniques and implementation strategies, Oklahoma is a national model for fraud protection and self-identification.

Tillman County 4-H members attend Leadership Conference

Tillman County 4-H attended the West District Leadership Conference in Midwest City in October. Fourteen 4-Hers attended this threeday conference, during this conference they attended leadership and team building workshops such as Stress Management with Positive Adjectives, Yoga, and Drunk Driving Awareness. These workshops were led by the District Officer Team.

Thanksgiving-like celebrations have been celebrated for centuries

The history of Thanksgiving- like celebrations dates back to the 1600s, although it likely wasn’t “Thanksgiving” and it was a celebration much different than what we celebrate today. In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies.
