Hitler suspends human euthanasia program

On Aug. 18, 1941, Adolph Hitler suspended the heavily disputed euthanasia program began in 1939, and run by Dr. Viktor Brack, who was named head of the euthanasia department. The program, dubbed the T.4 program began as the systematic killing of children deemed mentally ill and handicapped.
