Our husband, dad, friend, and fellow southwest Oklahoman, Jeremy Wayne Lamar, passed away on October 23, 2023, in a tragic vehicle accident that has left many with heavy hearts, but the memories of his friendly ribbing and infectious laughter will keep him alive in the stories we share.

Family was Jeremy’s inspiration. He was a devoted husband to his wife Melissa (Wofford) Lamar, a hands-on dad to their daughters, Tiffany and Rose, and a doting herd master to his cows. Most days, he could be spotted in the pens or on his side-by-side with his daughters, nurturing their show animals, tending their herd of cattle, and doing chores on the farm.

Melissa and the girls loved Jeremy dearly and will cherish memories of working the cows, attending OSU and OU football games, and traveling for family vacations and activities. They say laughter is the universal language, and Jeremy was fluent. Jeremy was the family ringleader of mischief and practical jokes, and from family gatherings to their daughter’s sports events, his wit and playful banter made every event memorable.

He was married to his high school sweetheart turned life partner, Melissa (Wofford) Lamar, and they crafted a love story that inspired all who knew them. Their bond grew stronger when, in 2008, they welcomed two beautiful girls into their lives, adopting them officially in 2012. The Lamar family found their forever home west of Manitou in June 2018, a place filled with memories of laughter, love, and shared moments.

Born in Clinton, OK, and a longtime resident of Kiowa and Tillman County, OK, Jeremy’s life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and agriculture. Jeremy’s faith anchored him at Tipton First Baptist Church, where he not only worshipped but also found community. He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.

Beyond family, Jeremy was known for his work at RE Garrison Trucking. He was a graduate of Snyder High School, Class of 1998, and Cameron University in 2004, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Ag Business Management and minors in Chemistry and Animal Science.

Jeremy is survived by his wife, Melissa; daughters, Tiffany and Rose; parents, Darrell and Mona (King) Lamar of Snyder, OK; brothers, Darren and Johnelle Lamar and their children Darra, Jaelie, and Izzy of Snyder, OK; and Blake and Contessa Lamar and their children Jade and Jordan of Moore, OK.

He is also remembered by his grandmother, Delilah Lamar of Stillwater, OK; Uncle and Aunt, Dan and Nancy Lamar of Stillwater, OK; Kenny and Jill King of Clinton, OK; Randy and Pam McLerran of Ocala, FL; in-laws Charles and Cindy Wofford of Tipton, OK; Chad and Anna Wofford, their children Kassadi and Kennadi of Davidson, OK; Chase and Heather Wofford and their children Josiah and Leena of Tipton, OK; and numerous friends, colleagues, and extended family. He was preceded in death by Al and Goldie King, Tom Lamar, and grand parentsin- law Donnie and Lois Rogers.

Jeremy’s life was a testament to the power of family, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered. He was one of the good ones.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a memorial fund for Jeremy Lamar to benefit his daughters, Tiffany and Rose, at All America Bank of Snyder.
